Magical Morning, Colorful Chaos

I woke up early morning hoping to go to the beach, swim and enjoy the beautiful sunrise but instead was greeted by a thick fog which made it so magical.

Running into the fog by the ocean with my friend Anna was an experience I can simply not explain in words. It felt like we were running into oblivion. Not able to see our destination and just running with our heart was so surreal.

Surprisingly, the water was warm so we swam into the big waves and enjoyed every moment of it. The advantage of being on a foggy beach is that it kept tourist away and felt like the entire ocean was ours to explore.

We got to test our flexibility with some cool yoga poses like the boat pose over the nearby boats.

It was time to head back for a quick shower, have my breakfast, and study for tomorrow’s exam. My friends, Nikki and Aureille, we’re heading to Mapusa to meet the herbal perfume man who scans your aura and recommends the perfect perfume for you. I was intrigued so I joined them on this adventure.

After an hour drive we got to Mapusa, the city hustling and bustling with action. We had to stop at an ATM in Mapusa because the ATMs in Mardrem. where we are staying have been damaged by couple of Russian thief’s who have stole money from the ATMs. We all were short on cash. Sadly, my two bank debit cards didn’t work in India. Will have to call the banks to find out what’s going on. My friends were able to remove cash which is a life saver until I figure out where to get some cash. I was a bit bummed because some cash was stolen from my ashram room and, now the ATMs were not working.

I’m glad I went to Mapusa with the girls because they would have been way overwhelmed and the ogling eyes of the men in this town would have been too much for them. The shop of the herbalist perfumer was closed which was a bummer but it was fun to explore the flower market, fish market, and textiles market. The flower market was simply one of the best highlight of this trip. Also, we stumbled upon one of the oldest local bakery in the market, Saint Francis Bakery, and had the Bebinca cake. It was heavenly, tasted very much like the French Canelé. Yum, yum, yum!

We headed back to the ashram in a very comfy taxi which jammed to the 80s music which was enough to get us all into our groovy moves. I wanna have sex on the beach… La Vida Locca…
