Last day in French Riviera

Before I headed out of Nice, the only touristy stuff I wanted to do, was to visit the Russian Orthodox Church which was closed for renovation the last time I was here. I highly recommend because it was a completely different experience than visiting another church or cathedral. Since the mass had just finished, I got to see everyone from the priest to the devotees in traditional attire. Taking pictures is not allowed inside the church but I did sneak one before they told me not too. Haha.

I grabbed a sandwich from the deli nearby and headed to the Promenade. The walk was pleasant because it started drizzling and the streets got completely empty as the tourist found shelter to avoid the rain, whereas I enjoyed the mist on a super hot day.

As I sat at the pebble beach, I wondered if this city was for me. Well, I don’t think Nice is a city for me to move to but it’s definitely a central base if I wanted to explore the French Riviera, aka, Côte d’Azur. If I had the means to own a yacht and a house on a hill with care takers, then I would pick one of the nearby towns in Côte d’Azur to live a relaxed, smoke-free and carefree life. Duh, who wouldn’t!

It was time for me to head back home to pick up my luggage and continue on to my next joyful venture. I’ve to say that each city and each moment is teaching me a lot about life in general and how grateful I am for this opportunity.

Au revior France, we shall meet again 😘
